Centreville High School’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers to provide valuable support, services, and programs to the CVHS community. Since 1988, the PTSA has worked to promote the welfare of our students in our homes, school, and community. Centreville High School’s PTSA is a local unit of the National PTA and Virginia PTA, Northern Virginia District PTA, and a member of the Fairfax County Council of PTAs.

Practice ACT Registration form

Deadline January 27, 2012
Registration is now available for the 2012 PTSA sponsored Kaplan Test Prep practice ACT on Saturday, Feb. 4 (snow date Feb. 11). Results will be held on Feb. 16 (snow date Feb. 23) with individualized appointments. Questions regarding the practice ACT can be emailed to Deborah Aceto-Milton at 2vp@cvhsptsa.org. In preparation for college testing, check out the one hour Kaplan Test Prep workshops offered by the PTSA following regular PTSA meetings in November, February, March, April and May.

 

PTSA College Workshops
The PTSA will be hosting monthly one hour College Workshops immediately following the regular PTSA meetings which begin at 7 p.m. followed by the College Workshop at 8 p.m.  Students and Parents are invited to attend.  Kaplan Test Prep will be presenting the workshops.  None will be repeated, so please try to attend. They will start at 8 p.m. after the PTSA meeting.s

McDonalds Fundraiser - January 25th (3-6:30 PM)

The All Night After Grad party committee will have a fundraiser at the Centreville McDonald’s (4040 GERMANTOWN RD FAIRFAX VA 22030) on Wednesday January, 25th from 3-6:30 PM. Students will need to give their receipt to a McDonald crew member or in the box provided. The fundraiser is on the same night as the Jason Linett Show, so we are hoping to recieve a big crowd before the show.

 

CVHS PTSA Scholarships
Each year the CVHS PTSA awards 10 $500 scholarships to deserving seniors who are members of the PTSA. The application form is now available. To see the requirements for the scholarship or to download the form, please click here. All scholarship applications are due on May 1, 2012.

 

Student Representative Council

To participate in the Student Representative Council, a PTSA student member must meet the following requirementsattend at least three PTSA meetings/events and perform 5 service hours in support of PTSA programs. Upon completion of all requirements, students will be recognized at the June student awards program with a certificate and letter of commendation by the the PTSA President. Annual Citizenship Essay Project
The Virginia PTA is proud to sponsor a Citizenship Essay Project. The 2012 theme is Community Responsibility.This Essay Project allows students to express their views and opinions on “Character or Citizenship”. Virginia PTA is committed to promoting a sense of citizenship and responsibility in the lives of our children—tomorrow’s leaders. The deadline for submission is February 1. All Night Grad Party(ANGP) Tickets
Like the past two years, the ANGP will be held at Dave & Busters. However, this year the party will extend one hour longer! Check-in for the All Night Grad Party will begin that night at 9:45 PM in the CVHS cafeteria. Ticket prices are currently $60. On April 1, ticket prices will go up to $70. On April 1, the ticket prices will go up to $70. So, beat the rush and buy your tickets early! All Seniors must submit permission forms to attend the All Night Grad Party on Tuesday, June 19. Rules and permission forms can be found here. These forms can be submitted in the CVHS main office. Wildcat Graduate signs

Attention Parents of Seniors: Order your Class of 2012 Wildcat Graduate sign today! What a great way to announce your child’s accomplishment. Signs are two color, 24” x 24” and come with a frame. Yard signs can be ordered for $20; cash or check made payable to CVHS PTSA After Grad. Signs will be ready for pick up in later spring.
